The radiation room |
On the table for my last radiation treatment! |
Ringing the bell! |
I am not sure the significance of ringing the bell with finishing cancer treatment, but it feels really good! |
My house was decorated when I came home from my last treatment. Thanks Mary Jo! |
Dear Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYou are one of my heroes. I've been keeping track of you through this blog and just want to say thank you. I should have contacted you before. Your letter last November motivated me to get my BRCA test in January and I was told in February that I tested negative. Fortunate for me and my children. Unfortunately that still doesn't tell us anything about my sisters. I was pretty sure, until my doctor told me, that I was going to have a positive test, and I kept thinking that you would be my example of how to handle the cancer should it develop. I just want to say that you have been courageous and a great example to me. I love you and pray that this trial and challenge is almost done for you. I loved the post you did awhile back about your mom. I miss her, I have so many great memories of her, your dad and you. Take care and remember if you ever need a summer vacation in Idaho and Yellowstone, my home is always here for you.
Love, Shelley Baum
P.S. I love your short hair; much better for hot flashes than long hair.

Hooray!!!!! I am so excited for you! One more step done. I would really like to actually SEE the inside of the radiation room. One of these days....I might actually get started with that step. :/
ReplyDeleteI read your update, i am glad your infection is gone. Hopefully it will all go smoothly from here on out. My diep is scheduled for June 18th, so I am excited that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
DeleteYeah, yeah, and again I say yeah. So happy for you. You have been a great example of grace under pressure. I admire you so much.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great feeling huh? I am so excited you are done. Cant wait to hear about it. Looks like we will be doing surgery within a couple of weeks of each other.
ReplyDeleteI bet you rang the bell proudly! =D I’ve read from your latest post that your condition has gone a lot better and that everything is back to normal. Radiation therapy is effective and may be tough, but you are tougher. So happy for you!
